Published November 6, 2007 / Press Releases
Today PolarLake announced key innovations in Business Rule capture for its Reference Data Distribution product, PolarLake RDD. The key component of improved usability is the addition of the Business Analyst Integration Workbench.
The key features of the Integration Workbench are:
-
Business analyst focused integration rule management workbench in thin client, Web 2.0 desktop
- Spreadsheet like usability with underlying integration rules, validations, runtime, reporting and operations support
- Template generation for downstream systems
- What if analysis and scenario analysis for rule mining
- Rule dependency management
- Internet style rule search
- Excel import and export facility
- Complete meta data management for Reference Data Distribution
- The benefits of this approach are:
- Intuitive, familiar environment with the same usability as spreadsheets but with the controls, validation, runtime and management features of an Enterprise Application
- Allows the requirements to be entered and expressed directly into the application, short circuiting the requirement documents, spreadsheet analysis and coding steps of traditional approaches
- Gives control of the data mapping to those who have the best understanding of the meaning of the data – the Business Analysts
Commenting on the release John Randles CEO PolarLake said, “This is a very significant release for PolarLake, delivering greater functionality for the Business Analyst who is the key person deciding what elements of the Golden Copy of Reference Data need to go to what downstream system in what sequence. Every Business Analyst in the world is comfortable with spreadsheets and this is why we have built this additional capability around this metaphor. We have adapted it to the context of an Enterprise Application where we can hide and manage the complexity that is usually exposed using traditional integration technologies. This will speed up a process that is normally requirements in a word doc, data analysis in spreadsheets and coding in an EAI tool. With PolarLake RDD requirements, analysis, configuration and testing are now all done in one place.”
